Massage: The Ancient Art Of Healing Through Touch
“I Feel Health Flow In.”
“I really look forward to my visits to Principled HealthCare because I love getting the massage that comes with every treatment. It makes me feel better all over. I feel my stress flow away, and I feel health flow in.” J.D.
At Principled HealthCare we include massage in many of our personalized treatment programs—it is one of the oldest and most universal natural methods of health care and wellness. Massage has been used in every culture on Earth, going back over 5,000 years.
There are many forms of massage, but all of them deal with the manipulating of upper and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue resulting in enhanced function, aiding in the healing process, and promoting relaxation and well-being.
Medical research has shown that the benefits of massage can include pain relief, reduced anxiety, reduced depression, temporarily reduced blood pressure and heart rate.
It is thought that massage causes the release of chemicals in the nervous system that make an individual feel happy and relaxed. These chemicals also flood the body with a sense
of well being, can prevent scar tissue and increase the flow of lymph which reduces inflammation. All of these reactions combine to reduce the effects of injury.
There are no age limits for massage. Children of all ages, including those with special needs, benefit from properly given massage, as well as the elderly and the infirm.
Massage reduces stress and can improve sleep. It speeds up healing for both physical and emotional situations by bringing a calmer, happier state of mind.
